Trans/LGBT Safe House Initial Funds

We have a property that is paid off in full; however, we refuse to do what most encourage us to do and rent the property (folks have tried in the past). We are living in an era where individuals are being targeted for being who they are at the core of their being. This does not allow our Comrades facing these life situations to best work towards the cause of ending class struggle. That is why we are making this house available free for anyone to stay at who is facing discrimination for being who themselves.  We ask residents only to submit to a background check to ensure the safety of other residents, and a short interview. 

Our family is poly. I am trans (mTf) myself. We do not discriminate. We want people to be able to have a place where they can get on their feet, get some education or certifications, save for transition, or just be safe while they figure things out. 

The house is paid for and there is no mortgage. We just need to cover taxes, heating and electricity, gas, internet, food for residents, a car or two for residents, petrol for residents, and a little spending money (we all deserve human dignity).

The goal for this campaign will let this operate for 1 year at a surplus. We can have 4 - 5 residents living here simultaneously. We hope to expand to purchase more properties, and perhaps seek non-profit status. Help us help those in need.  

We will be putting up a website soon where we can show the fully transparent budget as money comes in and is spent. The account will be an account only for this property. All records - except for that required to ensure the privacy of our residents - will be made publicly available to ensure operating ethics.
