Tracie's Aneurysm Battle

Donation protected
Hello!  Thank you so much for taking the time (and having the interest) to read this.  I’m writing this on behalf of my sister, Tracie.  As many of you know, she’s had quite a roller coaster of health issues since September of 2017.

For those of you who don’t know, Tracie was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm in September of 2017.  Her symptoms started about a year ago – which led to test after test, jumping from specialist to specialist for several months (with one doctor dismissing things as stress. Stress!).  Finally, after finding her current neurologist, it was determined to be an aneurysm.  A spot on her brain scan led to a brain angioplasty.  That brain angioplasty led to brain surgery.  Tracie had a coiling procedure done and had a stent put in an artery and all of the specialists involved felt great about it. Unfortunately, just a few months later, her symptoms were back.  In January of this year, another scan showed more growth.  Another brain angioplasty showed that the aneurysm was growing yet again.  She did not get to go home after that angio….  she was admitted until another brain surgery could be done the following week.  Again, everyone involved felt great about the procedure, but knew not to celebrate yet – which was wise, as her most recent brain angioplasty in March showed her aneurysm to be growing yet again…..

Her neurologist reached out to several colleagues here in TX to determine the best plan of action, as well as conversing with a colleague in Arizona, who happens to be one of the best neurosurgeons in the world (connections people, connections!).  It’s been determined at this point that the best course of action for Tracie is to travel to Arizona to have open-brain surgery for a vein-bypass procedure.  This will not be a walk in the park.  Tracie will need all the love and support she can get!

Long story short, Tracie has an amazing team of medical professionals on her side.  We know she is in the best hands possible. Unfortunately, with repeated brain procedures, hospital stays, lost time at work – and all of the expenses that go along with that, she’s drowning in medical bills.  And now, with her upcoming trip to Arizona (her consultation appointment is April 25th), she could really use some additional financial support.  There are so many things insurance doesn’t cover and any amount you would be willing to give towards Tracie’s medical expenses would be so appreciated.

We've added up bills paid, all outstanding bills, lost time at work and travel expenses for her first trip to Arizona, which is how we came up with our goal amount.  This amount will change as her new procedures happen. We are not trying to put her ahead, we are trying to make her whole.  I will also give updates on Tracie’s travels, appointments and procedures as she continues on her journey.  Thank you so much for your support!
