Tori's Fertility Preservation Fund

Donation protected

Hi friends, after half a year of waiting, blood tests and soul-searching, I've decided that on the balance of competing life discomforts, it's better for me to continue my transition.

While I've already done two rounds of fertility preservation last year, I fear those samples have been compromised by the non-HRT medication I was on at the time, which was not brought to my attention until I did more reading and talking to medical professionals. In any case, I would like to do two more rounds of fertility preservation before I go back onto HRT. This will include:

- ~$100 for two types of fertility analyses, the cost of which I was advised I would be out of pocket for
- $260 x 2 for two rounds of fertility preservation

I'm currently working two jobs, one of which takes up half my week and doesn't pay but is necessary for me to do as a part of academic course requirements, and the other has been very sporadic with shifts in the past few months and looks to continue being that way. In the past two months I only earned about $300 and I did not account for my shifts to drop off a cliff when planning around the timing of my expenses this year. While I would replace that job at the drop of a hat, my remaining weekdays are taken up by psychologist and medical appointments, making me unable to make it to most job interviews, let alone meet availability requirements for the kinds of work I'm skilled to do.

This means that I'm not in a place to start switching jobs at least until mid-late July.

On top of everything, transport costs, medical costs as well as monthly upkeep for my prior rounds of fertility preservation ($39) are eating heavily into my savings. I also do not qualify for any recognised category of government social security payments despite my status as a student, and the only category I could qualify for requires me to take on more commitments than I can fit into a week. My parents are unwilling to help me in this regard.

Being able to afford the incoming costs of fertility preservation so that I can take charge of one aspect of my life again - going back onto HRT - would greatly benefit my mental health, which for the past half year has been progressively worsening, because it would alleviate my current and biggest source of worry: finances.
