This is my friend Tonya. Wife to my Pastor and friend Jackie. Mother of 2 boys Caleb, 16 and Joshua, 12.
During a time of transition with Tonya's teaching career they dropped their health insurance. Just like all of us...life passes us by and we look up and it can be drastically different. Tonya was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and will undergo a double mastectomy on April 5th.
Tonya has the most sweet and soothing spirit. She is loved much by those who know her. She is loved by her students and I personally witness bear hugs often for Mrs. Watts. She's always willing to help serve. She's a wonderful help meet to her husband Jackie. They both love the Lord and look for ways daily to serve him and to love on his people. Whether its a reminder that they are valuable, a listening ear, a prayer, anything.......Ive watched them both spend their lives serving. And now its their turn to experience that blessing on the receiving end.
In Gods word it challenges us of doing good for all. In Galatians 6:2 we find, Carry each others burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. What an honor to carry our friends burdens! The burdens that come from cancer itself are hard to carry. And the burdens of worry and fear from the financial aspect can be overwhelming. Lets help them carry and make this load lighter so that their primary focus is to get Tonya well.
