Tony Scruggs - Liver Transplant Recovery

Donation protected
As many of you know, Tony Scruggs, U.S. military veteran has been sick for a long time.  He has a genetic disease called Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.  This has caused him to develop cirrhosis of the liver and needs a liver transplant to save his life.  Thankfully he was blessed with a new liver and underwent successful surgery November 20, 2018.  He is doing very well.  He is recovering at Duke Medical Center and will have a long recovery.

His wife Danell and Tony’s parents will be taking care of him while he recovers.  Tony will be in the hospital at least 2 weeks.  He will have to stay within 30 minutes of Duke Medical Center for his medical care for the following 4-6 weeks.  Duke is a 3 hour drive from their home.  Tony and his family will have to stay in a hotel or apartment near Duke during his recovery.  They will be in Durham for approximately 8 weeks.

This family needs your help.  First, we need your prayers for Tony and his family.  Second, there are many expenses including travel, lodging and lost time from work.  Any amount will help and will be greatly appreciated.  Together we can ensure Tony and his family will be able concentrate on his recovery.
