"Learn a Language, Change a Life"
It's so much more than a catchy tagline.
It represents our aspiration to daily change the lives of impoverished women in developing nations who have minimal opportunities to advance while providing the absolute best way to acquire a new language. This is not charity.
Instead of giving hand-outs, we give hand-ups. We aim to empower these women, who already are successful teachers, by linking them with students eager to learn another language via the Internet. It’s really simple: a student in the U.S. gets tutored online, live by a trained native speaker, and in turn, that student functionally changes the tutor's life. Did you know that for every dollar earned by a woman in a developing nation, it goes 4 times further than that dollar earned by a man? Why? Because men in these societies often spend it on vices such as alcohol and prostitution, whereas women spend it on their children, family, and communities.
We have been working at developing TongueTry since June 2016, and I am thrilled to report that we are already changing lives. One of our tutors Lourdes wrote this:
"Thanks, because you provided clothes for my children and also tamales and ponche for us. We had Christmas for the first time in years."
Seems like a little thing, but for them, it was everything.
That's the beauty of TongueTry. We are not going into her community and taking a piece of the pie, no, we are helping them make the pie larger. We have this unique opportunity through techonolgy to funnel into a desperate and impoverished community opportunities for women tutors to earn a strong living wage and impact generations to come. But this all costs money and at this early stage of the company, there is no ongoing revenue.
So we are raising funds to make sure we can continue to support our amazing tutors financially while we continue to build a world-class language platform and the marketplace surrounding it. Any amount helps us accomplish this. $5, $10, $50, $100, $5K.

Anything over $5,000 we give you 12 months of free lessons for one person plus you get to become an investor at the amount you invested according to our predetermined terms in accordance with other existing SAFE Agreements. For more information, please contact me.
