If Tom Ghiglia has a flaw, it is that he is too nice. He has always gone the extra mile to help others, but now he needs our help.
Tom has an orphan disease called Multiple System Atrophy, a condition that no one — including many physicians — knows about. Also known as Shy–Drager syndrome, MSA is a rare neurodegenerative disorder characterized by tremors, slow movement, muscle rigidity and postural instability resulting from dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system and the loss of full control of bodily movements.
Through all of the medical rigamarole, Tom has kept his cheerful outlook and loving heart. But now, he needs a helping hand to hire a personal care assistant. All contributions — regardless of the amount — will be greatly appreciated.
