Rebuilding Tana's Life

On December 15, 2017, Tana was in a near fatal car accident. “She has fractures in her pelvis, ribs, and spine, a lacerated spleen (this may need to be removed, but the bleeding seems fine at this time), a collapsed lung (which has been remedied) and is being treated for aspiration pneumonia as a result. Additional injuries will become apparent over time, but for now, she is intubated and sedated.” This report came just a few days after the accident.
Tana spent 61 days in the ICU with varying levels of responsiveness. She was transported to the Spinal Cord Injury unit in the Seattle VA to begin rehab on Valentine’s Day, 2018, and has been there ever since.
As an Army Veteran, mother of three, and grandmother of six, Tana knows how to fight, and that is what she has been doing ever since that tragic day. She has made great progress in many ways and we hope for her to have a full recovery.

Now we have a chance to join Tana’s fight.
Tana’s family is beginning the process of preparing the house for her return. As you might imagine, A LOT has to go into a house to make it handicap accessible. There is still a lot of healing Tana can, and will, do but she will still return home in a wheelchair, even if she walks again in the next 16 months.
I am asking you to donate to the family to get Tana’s (new) house in order. Her daughter, Elizabeth, purchased a house for Tana close to her other daughter, Leigh-Anne, and there are many changes planned to make it accessible.
Please consider donating to help Rebuilding Tana’s Life. We are all hoping and praying for her coming home soon, and as the saying goes, "If you build it, 'she' will come."
Current home projects:
- Build ramps into all entry points of the house
- Pave the driveway to have enough space for an accessible van
- Enlarge the master bedroom to make room for a patient lift
- Renovate bathroom and kitchen to make them wheelchair accessible
