Let me talk to you about Miguel.
Miguel Alejandro Espinoza Soteldo, is a 8 years old boy who lives in Venezuela, he was diagnosed with Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), last Tuesday 16th of August.
Miguelacho, like we call him among family and friends, is a joyful kid full of energy and happiness, loved by all around him. He is always playing with his brothers and filling his home with joy. Miguel goes to school as any other kid of his age, and he is also learning to play some musical instruments in the Youth Orchestra of his hometown, following the steps of his big brothers, excellent guys, very talented and with a very big heart. Nonetheless, life is asking Miguel something else: to fight a big battle that, together with his family and lots of faith, he will win!
LLA is a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. It appears when the bone marrow does not produce too many lymphocytes (a type of cell) mature enough to fight infections and carcinogenic cells at its best. Thanks to God and to his parents -Daniella and Alejandro- the doctors were able to detect it on time, and Miguel is starting with the first stage of the treatment, that requires Chemotherapy GCN 2005 and intravenous Methylprednisolone prophase.
This first stage of his treatment will last for 4 weeks. Miguel has been hospitalized at the Clinicas Caracas Hospital in the capital city of Venezuela, which is the only hospital able to guarantee his treatment, which is really expensive (approximately 55.000 USD).
Actually, Venezuela presents a critical situation -economically and socially- being almost impossible to find the medicines and the economical support. Miguel's parents already spent most of their savings at this early stage of the treatment and their insurance already reached the limit of its coverage. For these reasons, I am requesting your collaboration/funding. Together, we can help Miguel to fight and win against LLA!
The goal is to raise the most funds possible in two weeks, to help release the burden of the medical bills and to get the required medicines for the chemo at this first stage. This disease is very risky, Miguel will need Chemotherapy for 2 years, with successive stages of Induction, Consolidation, CNS Prophylaxis and maintenance.
We will really appreciate any collaboration that you can provide. Additionally, I will ask you to keep Miguel in your heart and in your prayers.

Miguel Alejandro Espinoza Soteldo, es un niño venezolano de 8 años de edad, que fue diagnosticado con Leucemia Linfoide Aguda (LLA), el pasado 16 de agosto.
Miguelacho, como lo llamamos algunos, es un niño cargado de energía y felicidad, muy querido por sus familiares y amiguitos. Siempre está jugando con sus hermanos y llenando de alegría a su hogar. Miguel va a la escuela como todos los niños de su edad, y está aprendiendo a tocar algunos instrumentos musicales en la orquesta infantil de su ciudad, siguiendo los pasos de sus hermanos mayores, muchachos ejemplares, talentosos y de muy buen corazón. Sin embargo, y por designios del destino, la vida le está exigiendo a Miguel, algo más: luchar una gran batalla donde, con la ayuda de todos, fortaleza y mucha fe, podrá ganar.
LLA, es un tipo de cáncer que afecta la sangre y la médula ósea, que se manifiesta cuando esta última no genera linfocitos (un tipo de glóbulos blancos) lo suficientemente maduros, impidiendo que estos combatan infecciones y células cancerígenas como es debido. Gracias a Dios y a la rápida acción de sus padres, Daniella y Alejandro, los médicos pudieron detectarlo a tiempo y Miguelacho ya está comenzando la primera fase de su tratamiento, que consta de Quimioterapia GCN 2005, con Profase de Metilprednisolona Endovenoso.
Esta primera fase se llevará a cabo durante 4 semanas. Miguel está hospitalizado en el Hospital de Clínicas Caracas en Venezuela, el único centro asistencial que le puede garantizar el tratamiento, que es bastante costoso, (55,000USD, aproximadamente).
Actualmente, la situación en Venezuela es crítica, ecónomica y socialmente, siendo muy difícil conseguir medicinas y apoyo económico. Ya sus padres agotaron la mayoría de sus recursos disponibles, así como también la cobertura de su seguro médico ha alcanzado el tope, por esta razón, quisiera contar con tu colaboración. ¡Juntos podemos ayudar a Miguel a luchar y ganar!
La meta es recaudar la mayoría de fondos posibles en dos semanas, para ayudar a aliviar la carga del costoso tratamiento médico y la obtención de las medicinas necesarias para la quimioterapia en esta primera fase. Esta es una enfermedad bastante riesgosa, llegando a necesitar quimioterapia por 2 años, con etapas sucesivas de Inducción, Consolidación, Profilaxia SNC y mantenimiento.
Cualquier colaboración que esté en tu poder, será enormemente agradecida. También te pido de corazón, que mantengas a Miguel en tus oraciones.
