I am working to raise $4,000 toward tuition to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum of Advanced Medicine and Health Care held at Johns Hopkins University. This experience will help me explore a medical career, which has interested me since a ski accident caused injury to my leg that required surgery. I've been researching surgeries and treatments relating to my own injury, but have always been attracted to the field of science. I'm so excited about the opportunity to attend this Forum and view it not only as a means to career exploration but, also, a step on my leadership path and to be around people my age with the same mind set as me. I'm only in my freshman year of high school, but, I spent my elementary and middle school years leading groups and volunteering. With the assistance of a youth leadership mentor who will help me prepare, I expect to make the best use of my experience at the Forum. I am just so fortunate to have been selected.
I am doing a lot of babysitting and whatever I can to raise the money and have some support from local family and friends. But, more help is needed, so I'm asking for yours. No matter the amount, anything you can do is greatly appreciated.
