To help support Amara Demeter

OUR HAPPY PLACE Hi there, thank you for visiting our GoFundMe page for our daughter Amara. On the evening of 7/30/18 my girls and I were at our favorite summer swimming hole, enjoying our summer time when this horrible incident happened. There was a small group of men and 2 children there and one of the men was throwing large rocks into the water for their dog. This made me feel uncomfortable being so close to my girls so I stood up to let it be known that I was watching him. I thought he got the picture cuz he went back over to his group. It was getting late and time to leave so I called the girls out of the water to help me gather up our belongings. The girls were on there way out of the water when I heard a scream and saw blood all over Amara's face. The guy threw a rock hitting her right on the forehead. I panicked a little, screaming trying to put pressure on the wound and gather my kids and their belongings into the car. The entire time I am trying to do all this the man who threw the rock just stood in his area and watched us. He never lifted a finger to help me with Armara. We rushed to the hospital to get help. I was thinking we needed stitches right away. I had no idea what damage was actually done to her. Within an hour my worst nightmare was coming true. A CT scan showed a fractured skull and in a blink of a eye we were being flown to OHSU Doernbecher Childrens hospital. When we arrived we were told Amaras skull was pushing on her brain & would need surgery to lift and reconstruct the front lobe of her skull with a metal plate. Amara's dad and I were so scared but we do realize how lucky we are to still have our beautiful Girl with us. We know the unspeakable could of happened. We are grateful that Amara has insurance but it doesn't even begin to cover the cost of being air lifted and surgery, not to mention the many more hospital visits Amara has a head of her. We are grateful for any of your support and words of encouragement.
