I am setting up this page to help all local residents and farmers of our two beautiful dales, Arkengarthdale and Swaledale that have been effected by the devastation of the Storm we had on Tuesday 30th July 2019.

People in Langthwaite, Reeth, Low Fremington and many other small villages in the two dales have lost family pets and their homes to 5ft plus of water. Farmers have lost their winter feed that they have tirelessly worked for over last two months as well as possible livestock.
The community is pulling together to help clear everything from local roads.
At this stage it’s hard to know the cost but can you put a price on people possessions and family keeps sakes.
We hope the money we raise can go towards rebuilding people’s lives and lively hoods.

Please give what you can. Thank you.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you all so very much for your kind donations. Sorry it's been a while since I have updated you all.

I have attached some of the amazing work from organised Volunteer groups that helped the flood Hub at Reeth Memorial Hall:

• The tremendous Arkengarthdale and Swaledale residents: gave up their jobs and valuable family time helping their neighbours and total strangers in the local community. Some helped running the hub, organising the kind donations and some helped feed the masses of workers. Some helped by clearing people’s homes of all the flood damaged property or by delivering items to residents who lost everything.

• Team Rubicon: partly ex-military volunteers helped run the hub from 31st July until 9th August, organising the help to where it was most needed to clear debris from the roads, becks and people’s homes.

• Local Businesses from the surrounding areas: donating food, clothes, cleaning products/materials, mops, buckets, wheel barrows, brushes and so much more.

• One Nation a UK based relief and development charity which supports local and international relief came up on the Sunday after the flood with a van full of water and donations. They also went out and sandbagged people’s homes.

We are so grateful to everyone who has helped and continues to help in one way or another.

The Reeth Memorial Hall has now closed as the flood hub and moved to Hudson House in Reeth where the council and local volunteers still help with all the donations.

The money from all the donations are going to be put into a Charity management foundation called Two Ridings set up for York floods https://www.tworidingscf.org.uk/ The money from this gofundme and money that is coming in from other fundraisers are going to be put into a pot designated for Swaledale and Arkengarthdale residents.

There is also a raffle and auction of promises that has been set up to help the residents of Arkengarthdale and Swaledale https://www.facebook.com/swalearkfloodfund/ if you feel you could contribute please like the page and email them on swalearkfloodfund@gmail.com

Thank you
Kindest Regards Nicki

Thank you all so much for your kind donations.
We are working directly with Reeth Memorial Hall, who are organising relief efforts into the community. You can continue to help by sharing the campaign with your friends and family, and by visiting the memorial Halls Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Reeth-Memorial-Hall-Temporary-Flood-Emergency-Hub-232173086877219/ for updates on our progress.
Help from local businesses providing food and equipment for all the amazing volunteers and people effected. The donations from people in local areas is overwhelming and we can not thank you all enough.
