Well folks, unless a miracle happens, I will have to close the doors to my beautiful shop this Monday the 20th, nearly 3 years after I opened with less than $8,0000.00 dollars....Sadly, now I owe my wonderful and patient landlord $8, 0000.00 to bring my rent up to paid. SInce yet another Pilates studio wants my space, I have until Monday to pay that balance. In other words, if I do not somehow find $8, 0000.00 in 38 hours TMJoywill be closed within the week......
I'm not that good at asking for money, so I would like anyone who contributes to know they can use their donation for store credit. Also, should I actually make it past all this to some kind of sustainability, I would consider it a loan that I am more than happy to pay back.
I still need some help wth marketing and advertising, social media....bookeeeping, etc.....
The one thing I do know is bathing suits....and I so love when I get the right suit for the right woman and I work damn hard to make sure than happens every time!!
What I also know is there is suddenly a whole foods and DB shoes openng within 2 blocks of my shop....and that changes the whole look and foot trafic of my neighborhood.
I also know rent like this in an area like mine wil never come again. I have made it 3 years in April, due to my amazing clients and my love of what I do. I ave I ever done more than cover debt.....no, but is my buisness growing and becoming more and more well know every day?
Have I ever recieved less than a 5 star review, on any medium...no.....becaue I love what I do. I don't make money, but I now I can make this sustainable....but if my space becomes another BevMo or yoga studio(no offense to either)....what kind of diversity are we offering our community....Temescal has far more coffee shops, restaurants, and yoga studios than any community could ever need or want.
I am trying to provide a service. I am trying ot help fit women in swimear that looks good on them. I think I do a great job at that. There are many aspects of TMJoy that need improvement and I will be continuing that education....but for now, I though I would try a last ditch attempt to try and save a dream that I think is the most wothwwhile dream I've ever had....
Even if I close, I will not considr it a failure....but if there is any way, at the last hour, in the lsst desperate moments to keep this dream alive....
I know it would be a miracle, but I'm in the habit of believing in those hings these days!!

Here's a video my dear friend Marc made before I opened back in 2014(....the campaign made $200.00 as I am a whiz at self promotion), but I think you can see how much it meant to me even then, now it is like losing a partner.....now it is forever part of me and I don't think I can face it becoming a pilates studio when it feels like part of my home.....
