Titi's Recovery Fund

Last year, our friend Titilopemi Oluwo survived a near-fatal, head-on car accident while driving home from a Beyonce concert. By all accounts, it was only by the quick actions of the on-scene paramedics and the hospital staff that she is alive. Within the first 48 hours after her accident, Titi would undergo open heart surgery to repair a punctured aorta, sustained when she hit her steering wheel; and a second surgery to repair her fractured pelvis. While these were the last of her surgeries, Titi would also have to recover from painful injuries to her clavicle and knee. Wheelchair-bound for 12 weeks, Titi would miss work during that time, unable to navigate an apartment building without an elevator or New York City's inaccessible subway system.
Titi has come a long way in her recovery. After months of physical and occupational therapy, she is able to walk on her own—but the road to recovery will be long and difficult. Titi still experiences pain and limited mobility as a result of the injuries she sustained. Even as her body heals, she will continue to be weighed down by the financial burden of her medical expenses for the foreseeable future.
How you can help:
Titi's accident was in August 2018, and while insurance has covered a lot for her, there are still extensive expenses from charges insurance doesn't cover to ambulance charges and the ongoing costs associated with recovery. Anyone who has ever met Titi knows that she is truly a blessing to everyone in her life. She is deeply compassionate, selfless, and genuine. She's a fighter, and has helped us fight through our worst. Now we'd like to do what we can to support her on the road to recovery so she can focus on getting stronger. Please consider giving what you can and sharing Titi's story.
