Tiny's Vet Fund

Our black retriever Tiny came to us around 7 years ago. Living in the country as we do, people tend to drop off there unwanted pets in our area unfortunately.  Being dog lovers as we are, especially me, when he strolled in our yard looking puny it was love at first sight.  He's been at the door or running out to meet me when I come home every day since. He and I are attached at the hip. He climbs up in my lap a lot of evenings and smothers me with kisses. My hubby and the kids are always giving him hugs. This morning as we were leaving for church, we noticed a lot of blood on the porch. We had let the dogs out to  do their business just a bit before we left.  We checked the dogs( we have 4) and found a huge deep gash roughly 10 inches long from the breast bone down on Tiny. It was through to the meat with a slight perforation at the top of the breast bone. It looked as though something had gored him. Seeing how it was Sunday, the only thing open was an emergency vet clinic.  Presently we've been struggling financially. I've had medical issues and had to cut my hours to part time. We could only afford to get him a shot of antibiotics, something for pain and bandage it up. He needs stitches, which requires anesthesia, and more antibiotics to heal completely, otherwise his chances  of survival  are limited. The vet won't do anything unless we have the money up front. We plan to check tomorrow to see if we can find a cheaper vet. If so. I will edit and change the amount necessary for his surgery. The vet said if he wasn't tended to in three days, it would be very hard to stitch and even harder to heal, again, making his survival chances limited. We have two kids with special needs who love him dearly and it would devastate my family and myself to lose our four -legged family member. If you feel the Good Lord calling you to donate, I pray that you listen and give us more years with our beloved Tiny.  I will do my best to keep everyone posted.
