Tim Stickel's Medical Expenses

Donation protected

Tim Stickel has always been very active in his life....fishing with his son, Jack, camping with his family and friends, traveling with Alana, his wife of 4 years, working as a land surveyor, building things and fixing up his new house.
Tim and Alana found out they were going to have another baby in November 2016.  Tim was so excited and couldn't wait to be a dad again.
Unfortunately, in July 2016, Tim was diagnosed with Stage 2 melanoma on his right leg.  After 2 surgeries, a lymph node biopsy and a skin graft, the melanoma was successfully removed.
But 1 month later, Tim's right leg started to lose mobility and he was no longer able to work.  He now required a walker to get around.  After having an MRI done, it was discovered that the spinal cord astrocytoma that Tim had removed as a child came back.  He required surgery to remove a large majority of the tumor in order to get his mobility back.
Tim had surgery on his spinal cord in September 2016.   After going through a few weeks of physical therapy, Tim's mobility began to decline again.  He now needs a wheelchair to get around.
In November, after having some more MRI's to determine the problem, it was discovered that Tim now had more tumors on his spine.  Tim is suffering from paralysis of his lower body due to the locaton of the tumors.
Treatment for the tumors will be tough since his type of tumor will not respond to chemotherapy.  If he does not qualify for an experimental drug study through the National Institute of Health, he will undergo proton radiation therapy.  Unfortunately, because Tim underwent radiation treatments for the astrocytoma as a child, he will experience permanent damage to his spinal cord, resulting in loss of sensaton and mobility in his lower extremities.
During this ordeal, his wife gave birth to healthy baby girl, Amelia.  Tim's wife, Alana, and his children, Jack and Amelia, are by his side through all of this.  It has been very trying for him and his family.
With your generous gift, Tim and his family will be able to pay for his medical expenses as well as help make their house wheelchair accessible for Tim.
Tim and Alana will be forever grateful to you for your donation to help their family during this difficult time.
