Timi (Oluwadurotimi) Oyebola Fund

On Friday September 21st, Timi (Oluwadurotimi) Oyebola lost his life to a tragic shooting while playing basketball on Chester Playground before attending church that evening. Timi, as known by his friends and teachers at Brooklyn Ascend High School, was an amazing scholar, a wonderful son , and amazing brother. Timi was well loved by his family, friends, and church family at their local Brooklyn church.
Timi’s family emigrated from Nigeria a few years ago, and he had hopes and dreams to later become a doctor or engineer. As one of Brooklyn Ascends best students, he worked hard, played hard and was a joy to those around him. He was also set to receive an award for his academic achievements from Columbia University here in NYC.
This a young life that has been tragically taken away from a family, a school network, and a community. We ask that you consider Timi’s family throughout this difficult time, and donate towards the cost of funeral and burial expenses. Parents should not have to bury their child. It is especially difficult when losing a child in such a tragic and senseless manner. These senseless acts of violence need to come to end.
As PTA/Family Association President at Brooklyn Ascend High School, I Kemi Desalu am organizing this fund to support Timi’s family in offsetting the cost of funeral preparations and expenses. All proceeds will be delivered directly to Timi’s family. Mother and father David Oyebola.
