Tim Buford & Family Medical/Travel

Tim Buford, 56 of Rome, Ga was critically injured Saturday morning January 13 around 0700. A lot of the details are still unknown. However, we do know he was on his way to work when his truck left the road, traveled down an embankment and hit a chain link fence. He was impaled by one of the fence posts resulting in a very serious traumatic chest injury. Luckily, it all occured in front of Kennestone Hospital and there were 2 security guards that found him quickly as there were no other witnesses. Emergency surgery resulted in total reconstruction of his upper right chest and having the upper lobe of his right lung removed. At this time, he is still in ICU and considered critcal but stable. It is truly a miracle that he is still with us. 
Tim has had a rough few years and was just beginning to put his life back together. He was working 6 days a week contracting at Lockheed. He was living in a hotel so he could be close to his 21 year old son and  14 year old daughter. It required him to travel from Rome to Marietta every day. He was close to saving enough money to pay for an apartment but unfortunately that goal is not within reach anymore. He does not have any health insurance and his car insurance had no medical coverage-and his truck has been totaled. 
We are seeking help with travel expenses so his teenage daughter can visit regularly throughout his hospital stay and to help his son and sister with meal costs who have been staying at bedside. Additional funds will be used to help Tim during recovery and assist in physical rehabilitation costs.
Above all else, our family asks for prayers. It is a miracle that he is still with us and proves that God is not done with him on this Earth. Thank you and God bless.
