Tighe Hawkins Memorial Lodge

With such great sadness, we find that our dear friend Tighe has passed away, quietly and with dignity, just as he led his life.
It is his daughter Abby's wish that Tighe be remembered in a way that would make him smile. In lieu of flowers, Abby requests that donations be made to the Tighe Hawkins Memorial Lodge Fund. It is her hope that a new NUHOC lodge will be built on the site of the old lodge and that her Dad can be a part of that journey in this way.
One of Tighe's favorite places on this planet was the NUHOC Lodge in Shelburne, NH. In his college days at Northeastern, most weekends he would get into his red jeep and make the 4 hour drive. It gave him a sense of peace. He would sit on the porch and look out at the Shelburne- Moriah Range. He had a certain sleeping area which everyone knew as "Tigheland" because he would go and sleep there. He loved to hike out to the Wild River and hike up to The Roost. Or take an after-dark hike up to the ledges with his friends, or alone. He would play, and beat everyone at, Trivial pursuit.
He could always be counted on to give a ride to the Lodge to someone in need, undergrads and alumni alike.
More than the Lodge, Tighe loved his daughter Abby. She meant the world to him. We all hope that this fund will help a new Lodge to be built, and that Abby will be able to visit and experience the Lodge the way her dad did.
**Please be aware that all funds will be deposited into the NUHOC Alumni fund at TD Bank and that Ken Mitchell (Alumni President) and John Furtney (Alumni Treasurer) will have access to the funds for the sole purpose of rebuilding the lodge.**
