Independance for Tiggy

Donation protected
Hello, My name is Juan but my friends call me "Tiggy" mainly due to my love of white tigers.

I was born with nonverbal autism and cerebral palsy, and in addition to these I also have aphasia, OCD, and PTSD from a series of unforunate events that I endured when I was young.  I love to help others, as much as I love art and classical music. Just a few of my favorite places are museums and the zoo becuase I love to learn new things and I love all animals.

What many may not know about me is that I am also transgender, and because of this my family abandoned me at a young age, and I was raised in the system. Afterwards I made friends who all wanted to help as much as they can, and I love them all for it.

Despite everything, I want to continue my passion of helping others and I've been using switch control on my iPad to learn coding. My goal was to learn how to make more switch accessible apps and games for others with disabilities and also I wanted to make better apps to help those with autism and similar challenges. However over the last few years I've been losing physical abilities which has made me more reliant on my friends who can help me do things
(Including helping me start this GoFundMe Campaign and to tell my story).

For the last few months I've barely been able to type even with switch control and now I'm also unable to swallow  and am on a feeding tube and pump. Recently, though nothing official has been said, My doctors believe I have ALS but I'm still undergoing testing.

Because of this I really need around the clock help and my Insurance is only able to do so much. My friends take turn to do whatever they can but still need extra help since they're not paid and must go to work.

Our main goal would be to be able to get constant care at home so that I don't face abuse at another institution. I've also been trying to get a Dynavox I15+ eyegaze controlled device so that I can continue working on coding and art. It would also give me the ability to communicate and have more independence as well as be a part of the community and help others.

This device would allow me to do just that, and wouldn't require the use of my hands  and motorskills.  In addition, I want to get a wheelchair accessible van so that I (with the help of friends of course) can continue going places, and make it easier to get to my doctor appointments and the like. There may be other things we can get to help as my body turns for the worst, and to make it easier on my caregivers such as adapted clothes just to name a few.

All donations are handled and accepted by my power of attorney and that bank account associated, from there any and all funds raised by the campaign will be held by him, or transfered to myself via Quick pay or otherwise, or of course be put towards things I may need or supplies.

Please reach out and be part of his community family even if you can only share this or possibly donate something that can help even if it's not money.

Thank you

Sincerely,

"Tiggy and Friends"
