Relief for George & Shelly

On September 28, George went to North Battleford hospital and was told he was to start emergency dialysis the next day at 10 am.

On September 29th, he and his wife Shelly made their way to St. Pauls Hospital in Saskatoon. While at the hospital the doctors determined that his kidney function was down to 5%, and he was started on hemodialysis. With the prayers and thoughts of friends and family, he got through that rough day with his wife Shelly by his side.

During his third dialysis procedure, there were some complications. His blood pressure dropped to 63/40, which had the nurses scrambling at the dialysis unit. Thankfully they had his pressure back to normal soon after.

Doctors said it would take 2-3 weeks of dialysis for him to feel better, and that he is to go for dialysis every week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday in Saskatoon. We're hoping that within a month he'll be able to do his dialysis in North Battleford, which is only 2 minutes from his and Shelly's home.  Until then, they have to drive to Saskatoon and back 3 days a week. That's 9 hours of total driving time each week.

Thankfully George has his wife Shelly right by his side through this whole ordeal. Shelly is a nurse who selflessly cares for others and their families day in and day out. Now she has taken time off from work to get through this stressful time with her husband. Time off of work means she's playing a waiting game with the Government for her wages for leave. We all know how that goes.

I set up this GoFundMe page so that we could pitch in and help relieve some stress for these two at this difficult time. It's hard enough for them going through a roller coaster of emotions, the last thing they need to worry about is expenses. Any little bit helps.
