Theresa Anne Catherall-Taylor, 43, Shawnee Mission, Kansas, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018, at her home. She was born August 28, 1974, to Bernard “Bernie” Catherall and Lila Kirby, in St Joseph, MO.

Theresa loved her family, friends and most especially her four beautiful daughters and two granddaughters. She was compassionate and generous beyond compare, willing to give more than she had and take less than she needed. She was creative, artistic and enjoyed dancing, sewing, crafting and spending time with family and friends.

She married Reginald Lawrence Taylor on May 7, 2010 who survives at the home. She graduated St. Joseph Benton High School and later attended cosmetology school at Vatterott Cosmetology (St. Joseph, MO). She had been a candy striper, violinist, track participant, soccer player and referee, minister, wonderful cosmetologist and cosmetology teacher at Regency Beauty Institute and member of Risen Lamb Choir, Angel Food Ministry and In His Presence Ministry.

Theresa was preceded in death by her step-mother, Ruby Catherall; father-n-law, Barry Craig; mother-n-law, Ollie Taylor; brother-n-law, Jeff Kincaid; grandparents, R. Kathleen McDonald, Thomas Catherall, Linda J. VanRossum and John D. VanRossum.

Additional survivors include daughters, JoAnne Smith (Salina, KS), Fantasia Smith (Kansas CIty, MO), Paige Taylor (Shawnee Mission, KS) and Lillian Taylor (Shawnee Mission, KS); grandchildren, Rozlyn Debra and Brooklyn Anne; parents, Bernard “Bernie” Catherall, Lila (Roger) Kirby; siblings, Linda Catherall, Darla Kincaid, David (Jodi) Catherall, William “Liam” (Brandi) Catherall; step-sisters, Robin Griffey, Samantha Kirby; step-brothers Michael Smithers, Russ Smithers and Tony Smithers; sister-n-law Kitesa Taylor, Re’Tina Taylor, January Taylor; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Theresa’s life on Thursday July 26th from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at Thompson Barn located at 11184 Lackman Road, Lenexa, KS 66219.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully prefers donations to support ongoing care and education for Theresa’s daughters. When donating, when asked about a “tip” to the website select “other” than put $0 in the space for the tip so all proceeds go for the donation.
