Therapy puppy for combat vet

I am a 3 time combat veteran with severe ptsd asking for some help in affording a therapy dog. I have been battling alcoholism and addiction for a long time to deal with the memories and nightmares and recently sought help. I was in a dark place that I created for myself. I began to hate the God that I grew up believing in, because I couldn't understand how he could allow so much. If you wish to hear my story just ask, i will gladly share it with you. I completed my first step of recovery by finishing a resident program. The battle hasn't been easy but I am fighting it. Since I have been clean I am seeing things in a whole new way. My belief and faith grow daily. My 3 girls are my whole world, my rocks and I put them through so much. I am now seeing them in a way i haven't in a long time, and sadly to say for my youngest I probably never did. I wish I could give them everything. I have finally come to the realisation that I can't change the past, I cant predict the future, I can only live for today. I will never again be the man I used to be, but I can be the man I should be. My therapist recommends a therapy dog, but with severe allergies and a wife that likes small dogs this process isn't easy, nor cheap, especially this time of year. My kids have wanted a dog for a long time but with the issues mentioned above it hasn't quite happened yet. We have finally found a breed that fits our families needs and would greatly help in my recovery process. I am asking for a little help in this process.
