"The Polaroid Bible" Expedition

In May 2017, I will be setting off on a multi-month expedition to explore Scotland, Iceland, Hawaii and New Zealand! I’ve been daydreaming about this trip my whole teen life {the type of daydreaming that happens to Walter in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty}. Years of imagining myself trekking through unseen parts of the world is finally becoming a reality! I will spend my time volunteering on organic farms, working in hostels and offering my assistance to anyone who may need my help! Any other stops along the way will be based on intuition and signs from the universe.
A year ago, I started a project that my sister and I entilted, The Polaroid Bible. It started out as a way for me to meet strangers when I moved to a new place, but it turned into an amazing way of making real, heartfelt + meaningful connections with people. I haven't touched the project in a while, but I am dying to go out and fill the sacred book up with hundreds of faces in polaroid pictures and hand-written stories ~ eventually, I want to self-publish this work as a book. This trip opens a portal for me to gather stories from people all over the world - different cultures, mixed ages + all walks of life.
For the past year, I’ve worked crazy hard to save up money for this trip: backpack, tent, boots, clothes, polaroids - basically everything you’d need to travel 3 countries by foot. While I’ve saved up a lot, the expenses of flights, equipment, insurance, visas and food are still sky-high.
I trust in the kindness of people to help me accomplish my dreams. I have a deep knowingness that the world needs the The Polaroid Bible, as it promotes acceptance, understanding, unconditional love + authentic real-ness. I believe in asking for help ~ so I’m asking you.
