Drew was a phoenix, a shining star, a fighter always getting back up and spreading his wings when the world burned him down. Despite tramendous challengs, Drew was always the person who believed that people were inherently good and we must never throw them away. Everyone deserved a second chance, or a third or a fifth. He knew that people fell down and needed help to get back up. He knew the challenges they faced were not always, or even often, the result of their own doing and we shouldn’t judge who to help and who to turn away from. He would have given anyone anything they asked for within his power. Weeks before his death he commented how he knew what it was like to need help and if someone asked him for bus fare, a few dollars to get a meal, he’d give it to you if he could. He would have spent the rest of his life doing exactly that. Helping those in need. Drew’s passion was indeed people.  Drew had a long history working in the non-profit world. In Madison he was working on Corporate Social Responsibility and what it meant to operate a business based on a Social, Ecological and Economic principles. He called it the Triple Bottom Line and it took much of his attention as he moved forward in his life and career choices. In order to acheive his legacy - The Phoneix Memorial Fund is established in his honor to work toward the following efforts:  ·      LGBTQ efforts (including at risk youth) ·      Affordable and Transitional Housing ·      Non-profit and Corporate Social Responsibility Start-ups Your interest, efforts and contributions will help us to realize his legacy.  If you are intersted in contibuting in any way outside of this page, please feel free to send us a messasge through this page and we will respond to all communication. If you would like to learn more about how Drew established the Volunteer Center in Marinette, the projects he was currently working on, or the causes he intended to serve, please follow this page for updates or find the Phoenix Memorail Fund on Facebook.

Pushing Forward 2019 - In the 21 months since Drew's death family and friends have gathered to discuss the mission and support of Phoenix Memorial Project.

We truly appreciate the support of all those who have donated and reached out to us to share their love and kindness. We are deeply grateful for every one of you.

On the anniversary of Drew's death and his Birthday (March 27th, 2018) we gathered in Madison for a Memorial Walk to honor his life. We walked the route that Drew took with his murderer before that man ended his life.

This year we are planning a Memorial Walk as well and details will be posted on the Phoenix Memorial Project Facebook page in the coming month - https://www.facebook.com/PhoenixMemorialProject/

We have been very hard at work and focused on healing in the year since the trial completed and the murderer was sentenced (January 4th, 2018). We have also began to build the website, the business plan and seek the non-profit status that will allow the Phoenix Memorial Project to facilitate the life's work and passions that Drew himself would lead if he could. Since no one person can alone save the world, we will have to join forces with many to bridge the gaps in this critical social areas. We will carry the burden together.

Please share the Phoenix Memorial Project and help us spread the word about Drew's story and our continued efforts to be the change we wish to see in the world.
