Brain Jar Labs Tip Jar
$147 of $1,000 goal

On a whim, I asked Josh Petty what it would take to make a beat em up for my video game music tribute band, the Mad Gear. I had seen his work over the last few years, and I was very impressed. What I expected to hear in response was something along the lines of "Oh, well game design can take years, I'd need at least $5000 and your first born, screw you for even asking. Etc etc." What he actually said was, "Okay, sounds fun!" He never asked for money or any other kind of compensation.
Over the last few months, he has single-handedly delivered a robust and very fun game and allowed the band to contribute design ideas, music, sound effects, and story elements. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's a childhood dream come true.
So while we are going to make the game and soundtrack available for free, we want to do what we can to show our appreciation for Josh, and to provide Brain Jar with the means to pursue future projects. Mr. Petty deserves that and so much more. Additionally, any money we make through bandcamp and merch sales through December will be funneled into this fund.
So please consider throwing some coins in this tip jar!
Thanks to everyone that supported this project! We're going to wrap this up.Of course, the game was completed before we even tried to raise money, so if you haven't had a chance to play it please do so!
We're keeping this bad boy going until the end of February! Please keep in mind that we'll be making shirts and CDs to-order, so it could take a few months to send out rewards.
