The Joshua Keys Recording Project
Ideally it will be on a Steinway grand piano, and recorded in 24bit/96mHz stereo sound. My goal is to create something that feels raw and inspired, and also bring a unique perspective and quality that comes from performance on a single instrument.
U2 is one of my all-time favourite bands—The Joshua Tree was actually the first album I heard by them. Their music was a key part of my high school years.
I studied music in University, as well as design and technology (the latter is where I landed career-wise).
I'm married to my best friend (also a U2 fan), and have 5 amazing kids. I'm just a guy with a dream, who majored in music, loves U2, and am a committed family dude working hard to make ends meet.
I truly hope you will consider supporting me in this venture, and that you will enjoy the music!
**PROJECT COST DETAILS:**
For transparency, here's the breakdown of estimated project costs:
Goal 1: Digital Recording, Mastering & Licensing
- Costs: $2500
Goal 2: Limited Run CD Production (250-500)
- Costs: $1500-2000
Goal 3: Limited Edition Vinyl Record (100)
- Costs: TBD...
-- GoFundMe.com platform costs: 10%.
The first priority I have is just getting the recording done. I've already committed to this part, whether I reach that total or not (we're so close to being able to reach the first goal!!).
The next goals are to establish proper licensing of the project, and depending on interest, producing a physical copy of the album.
Donations of $10 or more give you access to the digital download of this album as soon as it's ready. More information will be provided as it becomes available...
The album is just about finished!
Even though it will be a while before I can afford to get an actual physical album printed/distributed and whatnot, I'm at least going to create some 'album artwork' for the cover. I can dream can't I?
Let me know which option is your favourite:
- Option A - closer to the style of the original
- Option B - a bit more adventurous or...
- Option C
Thanks everyone for your support on this project so far!
