Matt Hobler’s Memorial funding

Update 7/31:

Today Matt lost his battle to cancer. It was a quick succession of symptoms that finally hit him all at once. It was too much for his body that had been fighting for so long. Matt passed away with his wife Jess by his side praying and holding him, and his family surrounding him.

The funds that have been donated so far has helped them so much in this process. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. It was not in vain. Any remaining funds and additional donations will go toward paying for final expenses and helping Jess through this time.

URGENT EMERGENCY:
Matthew and Jess learned that he is in Gastric Cancer Stage IV that has metastasized to his liver. We are running out of time to get Matt the treatments he needs! At this point the treatments will be very costly.  Their insurance won't cover the costs.  98% percent of this is coming out of their pocket. But the treatments are  much needed and there is hope of building the immune system and beating this cancer. Please Help!

My dear friend, Matthew, my best friend Jess' husband, has been put through the wringer. A couple months ago Matt was starting to feel ill and went the the hospital, where they noticed a mass in his stomach that had been causing him pain and weakness.  So they went in for a biopsy, only to have the procedure botched, causing him to be septic, throwing him onto this roller coaster of trying to heal his already aching body.

A doctor in Indianapolis was able to perform emergency surgery on Matt to save him from septic shock. But unfortunately in the process  discovered that Matt had gastric cancer.

While Matt has been healing from his emergency surgery, he has been dealing with side effects and infections that have severely slowed down the process of tackling the cancer in his body.  It wasn't until about a month after the initial biopsy that he was able to get tested to see how severe his cancer was.

They unfortunately found tumors on his liver as well.  He was in stage 4 cancer...
The oncologist that they spoke with was not very hopeful about the effectiveness of chemotherapy.

Because of that, and because of Jess and Matt's own belief in holistic healing, Jess and Matt started reaching out to resources for natural and holistic healing.

At this point they have gotten advice and knowledge from numerous doctors about treatments and therapies, from different departments of the hospital, as well as naturopathic doctors. Jess has spoken to soooo many doctors, and done research on her own, about how to help Matt.  They have already started practicing some holistic healing methods.  And they are taking steps to work with an oncologist and a holistic practice, to combine some chemotherapy and some holistic treatments, to shrink and destroy this cancer.

Unfortunately, a lot of this treatment is an expensive process.  And right off the bat, there is a blood test that Matt needs to get done that will cost $4000.  This blood test will not only pinpoint the treatments Matt needs but the doctors will also be able to produce a vaccine from his blood that is specifically designed for Matt's body chemistry and composition to attack the tumors directly. From there, each treatment and doctor visit is a couple hundred dollars.  So for Matt to see this through, it's going to add up.

Matt and Jess have been in and out of the hospital since mid May!  Jess has been amazing at interceding for Matt in getting the help he needs, has been by Matt's side this whole time, and has only left to pick up work shifts when she can. Helping Matt has been a second full time job. And their health insurance only covers so much of this. They also started a Patreon  to work on music to supplement some income for their bills. But that only covers so much as well.  They could use a break, or some big help.  This is a long journey to healing that Matt is willing to take. He's young. And he is fighting hard!  But they need to get his initial blood work done to really start tackling the cancer.

Any amount can help. But the $4000 they need asap.  And then money for the appropriate treatments after that.  For example, they want to  start some recommended Ozone and Vitamin C treatments, that cost $1800 for just two weeks worth. Its projected they'll need about 14-16 weeks of treatments to eradicate the cancer.  Thank you so much for donating what you can.
