Help college student save deceased mother’s estate from foreclosure.

On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, Shona Guilbault unexpectedly passed away, leaving behind her only heir, daughter Shannon Guilbault.

Shona Guilbault (2/9/63 - 1/23/2019) was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, daughter, friend, and colleague. Everyone who had the pleasure of meeting Shona knows how bubbly, fun, caring, and passionately generous she was. Shona always put her daughter first and was her world. There is no bond stronger than the tie Shona and Shannon had together.

The mother and daughter had become inseparable when the parents divorced. Shannon’s father passed away when she was thirteen. Her life then revolved around her single mother, without having a paternal figure. She put all of her efforts into raising her daughter until she was laid off and her health dramatically declined. Shona struggled with many medical problems while being in and out of hospitals up until her passing. It seemed Shona was making progress and was excited to restart her life after her second pacemaker transplant just before Christmas 2018.

Shona shielded her daughter from her financial burdens for as long as she could up until her passing, leaving her daughter with over $100k in debt.

Shannon Guilbault (12/22/1998 - Present) is an only child and a first generation college student working towards her bachelor’s degree at the University of Connecticut. Shannon is still making decisions about whether or not she will be able to continue her academics because of the finances, foreclosure, and ability to cope with the loss.

In memory of Shona, please consider supporting her daughter Shannon in this time of need. Shona’s daughter will benefit greatly from receiving this love and financial assistance at this most difficult time. This campaign was launched in response to the overwhelming amount of love, concern, support, and offers to assist the family. Proceeds will alleviate the financial burdens including funeral expenses, college tuition, and the pending foreclosure that no 20 year old should be responsible for at this point in their life.

Anything you can do or contribute to help the Guilbault loving family as they continue their journey through this incredibly difficult time is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
