PLEASE HELP US HELP OTHERS!
For the past 11 years New Hope Community Church has provided FREE groceries to needy families in the depressed Meadowview neighborhood in south Sacramento, CA.
We partner with the Sacramento Food Bank to distribute 10 tons of food to about 250 families (approximately 1000 individuals) every week.
Our food ministry, "The Gift of Groceries" operates solely on outside donations. The ministry has NO paid staff. All work is performed by volunteers. EVERY DOLLAR donated is used to purchase and distribute food.
We recently had to retire our 26' cargo truck used to transport our food due to ongoing mechanical problems and prohibitive repair costs. We now rely on the Sacramento Food Bank to deliver our food every week. It is uncertain how long this service will continue, thus we must be diligent and proactive in planning for the future.
We need your help to raise between $85,000-$125,000 for a new truck to be used to pick up food from the warehouse and deliver it to our distribution site, in the event the delivery service ends. Should the delivery service continue indefinitely, all donations will be used to purchase food for the ministry. Thank you!
