The Cross Training Center

The Cross Training Center in West Los Angeles Ca. is possibly under threat of closing its doors forever.

My name is George Solorzano, Co-owner & head coach of “RioHot Fitness”. I am personally reaching out to all of my friends, colleagues & associates, and fellow athletes to join me and help me keep the doors open for this small but powerful gym.

Here’s a back round on what is going on with this great little place.

This gym has been here for about 30 years. Opened by a well-known celebrity trainer. To make a long story short, this celebrity trainer was leaving town and sold the place to its current owner who also is a celebrity trainer as well. After 23 plus years of training 1000’s of people and hundreds of celebrities at this gym, he is ready to retire and sell the gym.

So I Thought….

Simply put, the current owner of the gym called me up on “November 28, 2016”. After a little chit chatting with him, (since I have not seen him in a few years), he asked me if I wanted to buy the gym from him. My first reaction was “What are you Talking about!” He just said he was ready to retire. I said, of course, I’d take it over! He said great, come over to my place Friday, Nov 30th and lets talk detail.

My dreams are finally coming true
Ever since I got into the personal training business, it’s always been a dream to have my own gym. And now I have the opportunity to have one, even better, one that’s already established.

This is a gym that I took over temporally for 1.5 years while he had to travel with all his celebrities. I also trained a lot of my clientele as well as his clients over the years before and after I would manage his gym.
And then, everything switched for me as I got busy and wasn’t training people there anymore. But we stayed in contact.

This is a guy that I looked up to when I was younger and he mentored me in the business and took me under his wing. This is a guy that’s done the Ironman 4 to 5 times including Hawaii Ironman. This guy was so physically fit that he always looked 20+ years younger than what he really was.

The Meeting
So the day came when I go to his place to talk about the gym take over. At this point I was so excited and so many things running through my head about the next chapter in my life, I actually got lost going to his place....LOL

I rang the doorbell and waited, and waited and waited. Mmmm what’s going on I told myself, ahh finally the door opened slowly and I stepped in expecting to see my mentor very fit strong friend, but my jaw dropped. In front of me, I saw what used to be my mentor in an electric wheelchair. He cannot walk and his right side is frozen. OH MY GOD! What happen to you I asked. He said he’s got “Multiple Sclerosis”! That’s when I started to make sense of all the things that I noticed over the years. He was diagnosed with MS back in 1995 after he finished competing in the Hawaii Ironman. And never told anybody, until now. The only people who knew where his clients.

I broke out in tears, he wasn’t retiring by choice, he’s retiring by force.

We proceeded to talk and he said that I need to take the gym over by January 1st.
WOW, that doesn't give me a lot of time to get organized for this big step. I was hoping more like 2-3 months from now.

Unfortunately, because of what happen to me almost 1-year prior, this could be a major factor whether I get the Gym or not.

MY SITUATION
Last year I started Ubering on Dec 9, 2015, for extra money to keep the cash flow coming in. 6 days later on Dec 15, 2016, I was involved in a car accident while I was Ubering. The person causing the accident admitted to guilt and I had a witness. My car was a total loss and I had messed up my shoulder in the crash. The passenger I was Ubering was OK. Not only was I out of work for almost a month, because of the loss of my car. I also had to go rehab my shoulder for 6-7 months. So in the process of rehab, I lost clientele do to not being able to function my shoulder correctly because of the accident. So I was living on my saving for almost a year. Uber  did replace my car, so that was great. But Ubering became my full-time job to keep the cash flow coming in as much as possible.

Today
I am pretty much healed and starting to work with new clients again. I was still working with clientele that stuck with me all this time. And also the money I made driving for Uber was helping me to just get by each month.

My Attorney tells me that soon I will be getting a settlement to cover all my losses.

My goal, with your help, is simply to raise enough money to keep the gym running for 2-3 months until my situation gets better and to do a major face-lift once the funds have been raised.

My crowdfunding effort is your chance to contribute Directly to saving a facility that’s helped thousands in the past and will continue to help 1000’s into the future.

ANY AMOUNT  DONATED HELPS TREMENDOUSLY
Much of the equipment in the gym needs to be updated and or replaced, so 100% of all contributions received will be put into the purchasing and replacing of facility equipment and defraying opening costs.

The more funds raised, the more AMAZING this place will be for every body’s enjoyment.

And the closer I'll be to attaining a bigger and better facility to keep this great Gym going for future generations.

My vision for The Cross Training Center with your generous contribution is to merge RioHot Fitness and make this gym grow bigger and better.

By making a personal investment in the center, you're helping to ensure the future of something GREAT!
