My name is Thaddeus—Founder of The Charity Experiment.
I'm asking for your help so that we may help those that need it most.
The Charity Experiment is an organization dedicated to raising money and awareness for the most effective charities in the world.
I created The Charity Experiment to tackle the major questions that both new and seasoned charitable donors have most often. Questions like:
• How do I give?
• How much should I give?
• Will my donation be put to good use?
• Am I giving to a trustworthy organization?
The Charity Experiment was created to solve these problems.
Each month we nominate three highly reputable organizations allowing users to vote for, and donate to, the charity or cause they care most about. At the end of the month, we pool the donations, tally the votes, and donate the proceeds to the winning organization.

Every charitable organization nominated by The Charity Experiment undergoes extensive philanthropic research rooted in effective altruism to ensure efficiency, impact, and transparency.

Give only what you can (as little as $0.50/month) when you can. By leveraging the powers of social media and crowdfunding, our individual contributions harness economies of scale to deliver a greater collective impact to the most efficient charities in the world.
What will the money raised actually be spent on?
Nonprofit status and ongoing compliance is the most important goal of this fundraising campaign. While we are already actively fundraising for highly effective charities, nonprofit status will allow us to apply for public and private grants and ensure your donations are tax deductible.
By the numbers:
• $2,539 for legal counsel to guarantee approval and continued compliance (Harbor Compliance).
• $1,035 approximate Massachusetts 501(c)3 filing fees.
• $492 for annual website hosting + email.
Our initial campaign will guarantee The Charity Experiment receives 501(c)(3) nonprofit status ensuring regulatory compliance in line with local, state, and federal requirements. Achieving 501(c)(3) nonprofit status allows TCE to:
• Publish annual reports with the secretary of state
• Provide fundraising registrations with the charities bureau
What about the rest?
The remaining funds will allow for continued growth through targeted digital and traditional advertising campaigns with a focus on increasing the number of donations made to our nominated charities.
It will also allow us to apply for grant funding, further develop the website and security procedures, establish important business relationships, and grow our donor base.
