Here's Our Story:
Our band, the black and the white, has been a Los Angeles based band for the better part of 4 years. We  traveled across country from New York in our beloved van, which had transported us on almost every tour with our previous band, As Tall As Lions.  Just this year, the black and the white were starting to gain significant momentum,  landing local opening slots with bands like Cage the Elephant, Of Monsters and Men, and The Moglis as well as a successful run of 8+ shows at SXSW Festival, among other exciting accomplishments.

On June 2, 2015, our drummer Cliff's birthday,  Cliff walked out of his appartment in Los Angeles to see that  his band's van had been stolen, along with over $17,000 in drums, guitars, amps, sample pads, in-ear monitors, guitar pedals, mics and cables - the single biggest financial loss we've ever seen, Individually or as a group, totaling over $21,000 (including the van). Heartbroken does not describe the feeling in that a lot of that gear had been accumulated over the last 10+ years, much of which had traveled with us on tours across the world with our previous bands.

We had just played a LA show just a few days prior and believe we may have been followed or "staked" out by people who prey specifically on local bands for their gear.

As a thank you to those who donate, we will be offering exclusive access to (3) high quality, professionally shot live music videos from our performance at the Tower Theater, when we opened for Cage the Elephant earlier this year.  The HD videos are multi-camera and will also feature high quality audio from the show: No camera mic audio or fuzzy interference.  We will have these videos ready for you by end of June (most likely next week).  Here's a sample:
