After successful residency in Busan, South Korea, Tabula RaSa NYC Theater and the Bae Kwan Gong  [BKG] Theater Companies will embark on a month-long residency in Bogotá, Colombia.

During this important residency, the two companies will co-produce an ensemble show– with three actresses from the participating countries of the Theatre For Peace Project: Colombia, Korea and USA; Claudia Osejo, Hyo Rim Lee and EdnaLee Figueroa. This cross-cultural experience will take place around Hye Ja Ju's play MY DEAR, HELEN, inspired by the life of Helen Keller.

The work will be featured at the "Women on Stage for Peace" International Theater Festival in Bogotá.

We have also been invited to perform  (outside the city) in  support of the on-going Colombian Peace Process.

Thanks to our Korean partners, the total cost for this mission's transportation, room and board and cargo has will be split within the two companies. Tabula RaSa's portion is of $4,000 by the end of the residency.
We are beginning our fundraising campaign to support these artists in this amazing opportunity. One of the ways is by using this site.

THEATER FOR PEACE PROJECT
An international artistic exchange and collaboration effort to promote cultural dialogue about Peace and Human Rights.

Background:
In November 2016, TRT hosted the BKG Company for a 21-day residency in NYC which included, among other artistic activities, the coproduction of a version of MY DEAR, HELEN (Based on the life of Helen Keller).

In May 2017 TRT traveled to Busan, Korea for a month residency full of amazing experiences. Classes, lectures and the co-production of Tabua RaSa's The Winter of April (with cross-cultural cast). The play was featured at the Busan International Performing Arts Festival

Tabula RaSa NYC Theater is a non-profit theater company and we currently receive no money from State or Federal sources. We must raise our entire portion of the budget for a successful residency.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to Tabula RaSa NYC Theater so that we can continue this intercultural project for Peace and Human Rights awareness through arts.

Thank you for supporting our efforts in representing New York and Colombia in Korea, a significant experience we will never forget.
