As many of you know, Denise was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. She had thought she had a bad run of the flu until her symptoms progressively got worse. Being the strong woman she is, she shouldered the weight of the impending results, so that those closes to her wouldn't have to worry. Having made this selfless decision, she received the heartbreaking news alone. Now we are reaching out to ensure that she never feels alone again.
Anyone that knows the Yungen family knows they have experienced more loss and have had to overcome more than one would think is humanely possible. If you’ve been lucky enough to have met Denise or her sons Michael & Marc you know how unbelievably special they are, even in the darkest of times they remained selfless, generous, strong and determined to show absolute love and support to everyone in their lives. Marc and his children may be a province away but his love for his mother and determination to help Denise fight is so strong.
Denise’s eldest son Michael and his rock Santaia insisted Denise move in with them and their now 3 kids (4yrs, 2yrs and 2 weeks old). Raising three children on its own requires an army yet Michael and Santaia make it look easy. They're balancing care for his mother, a newborn baby & the usual day to day needs of all 3 children. They don't see any of this as a burden, they're truly the prime example of "Family Goals".
Denise has told us she is ready to fight! She still has so much to live for and she's not giving up! Denise is exploring some integrative health options which will not be covered by her health insurance. The Integrative medicine is a combination of medical treatments for cancer and complementary therapies to cope with the symptoms and side effects which will improve her quality of life. Now comes our part. It’s time for all of us to give them our love and support and to make sure they know just how important and special they are to each of us. The next few weeks and months are going to be the toughest for them. If any of us can help make their lives easier by taking on some of the financial stress so they can focus on supporting DENISE... lets do it!
No amount is too big – or too small. Please know Denise's is truly grateful for all of the love and support everyone has shown thus far. Let’s continue our support of the Yungen family so that she and her tribe of warriors can focus on fighting this battle together.
