Update for Dahlia 26th. October

Hi there, this is Dahlia! The one eyed kitten winking at you with thanks for giving your donations to help me.
I have had had my surgery. Whoo hoo!

As you know from my other story I probably had an eye infection as a kitten and my third eyelid came up to protect my eye. But it stuck there and it looked kind of silly. I had no vision. When the doctors did the surgery to remove my eye they found that my eyeball was misshapen and there were more deformities. Good thing it came out. I am so much happier now. I am so much more carefree. I am so happy that you helped me.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This is Dahlia's Story:

My name is Dahlia and I was very tiny when I was found in a horse barn that had become  overrun with cats.  There were lots of us there and we didn’t know any different. One day a lady whom my owners knew came by for a visit.  She had been helping to get the cats spayed and neutered and if they were people friendly she would find them forever homes, with families and children!  That’s exciting. :-).  Most of the cats were feral though and had to be returned to the farm. But that’s ok. We all got along. There was one female that was very wise to the humane trap and she couldn’t be caught. This was my momma!  In the spring she, of course, had a litter and that's when I was born. The barn was very dusty and dirty, and this led to eye irritations and infections. The farmer talked to his friend about me and my litter mates and asked if she would be interested in taking us into care.  We all seem to have eye issues and without medication we will lose our sight. Next thing I knew, we were picked up, placed in a cozy carrier and taken to a kitty doctor. ( I heard later that they finally caught my momma and she is now spayed and living a healthier life. Yay!)

We were all given medication and everybody's eye ailments cleared up; except for mine. At first they said I had about 60 percent of my vision but over time it got less and less. My third eye lid, which comes up from the inside corner of my eye is stuck to my cornea. It is blocking almost all of my vision. I can only see a little sliver of light and dark. I keep getting infections because my tear duct is not operating properly and I have been given one medication after another. So I was taken back to the kitty doctor, where it was determined that my eye can’t be saved. *Sigh* At least I won’t have to worry about it anymore, but Pet Patrol will worry about covering the cost at the vet. That is always a concern. They have soooo many cats in their care and they aren’t funded by anyone.  They feed the kitties good food, take care of all kinds of medical needs (I heard about Holly!) and have them spayed or neutered. Then they are ready for people to love them one hundred percent.  I want people for me too, but I need my eye fixed. Can you help me?
