THE THANK YOU BOAT!!!

$4,319 of $6,750 goal

Raised by 9 people in 5 months
For many years now I share my life with the woman I love.

I struggled through many crisis of life and she always gave me the love and help I needed to stay on course.
It is very much time to give back for me.

We live surrounded by Big Lakes and we love to spend time at the lakes.

So I decided I will invest a lot of time and work in fixing an old boat to give her the opportunity to step aside from her Job where she helps A LOT of people to stay on course in their lives. And give back for many years!

This is an approximately 4 months project.

I did find the perfect boat for sale. It is a 1988 Cruiser. It has a maintained engine and a hull in good shape but needs to be fixed up.
If this boat is sold by the time I have the funding I will find an equivalent.

I am not willing to compromise but rebuilt a boat so it looks and fells new and represents the value of thankfulness I return with it.

I will run a bi weekly updated blog of how the work commences as soon as the renovations start.

The project/renovation will start at the day that I collected $3.800 as I can bring it to a garage where I will immediately start to work as I get the funds for additional materials.

And this is what I am asking help for:
To get the opportunity to show a Thank You with a lot of help! Yes! and with a lot of work and love that I will put into this boat and give something valuable and beautiful which will last for many years in to the future.

Funding the Boat: $3500

Replace the and stringers, foam and decking $900

(re)build the seats and bedding (upholstery + foam) $1200

New fuel tank $600

Make a soft boat enclosure $250

Sand and repaint the hull $300
------------
$ 6.750 Canadian Dollars in total

I will post all and every receipt of payments to maintain 100% transparency where the money goes.

Good Day everyone,
this is another update. I am so glad that I just received another donation. Every single Dollar pushes the project forward and is highly appreciated.
The progress on the boat is steady. I learned to sew and I was able to sew about 1/4 of the new upholstery.
I did attach the bill from all the Vinyl, the thread and the foam piping I need for the upholstery. This amount is the total for all future work.
The next bigger investments will be foam for the new upholstery (about 700$) Carpet (about650$) and then the big unknown number is the foundation and the new decking. It all depends on the amount of work I will have to put into the repair or even the replacement of the foundation.
But that is future stuff.
I don't plan to make any more bigger purchases before February as the current jobs keep me busy.
That includes new paint on the boat (transition from white red to white blue) and there is still a lot to be ripped out from the old interior.
Especially the Cabin is almost untouched. Everything needs to come out.
That alone will keep me busy till about end of January.
After that I will continue with starting to make the lumber foundation of the new panels and seats.
The sewing part will come to a temporary halt now.
have a great time

Good Day!

A short update on the boat.

10th of October finally was the big day of the purchase.
You can find the bill attached!!

I could pay the boat and was able to pull it out of the dealers yard and everything went fine.

So I brought it to the heated hangars on the storage on an old air base.

On the way there I stopped at an outdoor wash bay to give the whole boat a good wash!!
And yes on one of the pictures you can see the boat on that wash spot and on another picture I am standing on the deck and I make a picture of the massive difference of an area already cleaned and an area that was still dirty from former years.

So this wash was a really cheap and easy fix for a lot of dirt to come off and I curved A LOT of spray and wipe action in the storage.

The next day I back to the storage and took out out ALL panels and seats to get the upholstery removed which I will then use as templates when reproducing new upholstery!

The upcoming weekend I plan to rip out the old carpet and inspect the deck of the boat.

more updates to come
stay tuned!!

Good Day Everyone!

Thank You very much for all the great donations!!!

After a week of restless research in a range of 500KMs around the place I live I failed to find a trailer for the planned boat.

And that was great. Because in the process of finding that trailer I found the boat that fits just as great with the exact same great attributes to the same price.

180 hp !!!!

A swimming platform

A sleeper

Lots of space

20’ foot long hull

Maintained engine and leg

cover

And on top of all that

It comes with a warranty

and a trailer that can carry up to 6000 pounds and that is in great working condition!!

The total cost is 3.500 Canadian Dollars.

That is a very good deal!!!

I am estimating that I will need another 3500 to 4000 Canadian Dollars to finish the boat!

I was going full throttle on my research. So it took only a week to get there
