The Ten Classroom Transformation

I am dedicated to start 10 brand new teachers off with all the supplies to differentiate, teach, and meet the needs of students in their future classrooms. I have supervised 10 student teachers for13 months who will now be graduating in the state with one of the lowest (if not lowest) per pupil spending rates in the nation and some of the lowest (if not the lowest) salaries in the nation. Yet, these wonderful teachers will be asked to work miracles! Nearly all have landed jobs teaching in Title 1 schools with poverty rates of 89-94%. I want to provide them at our cohort graduate ceremony with a huge box of supplies such as:
- the basics (pens, pencils, small whiteboards, markers, class sets of scissors, etc.) - my first day in a title one I was given one box of 12 pencils, 4 markers, a stapler, and reams of paper. Recent studies show that AZ teachers spend over $1000 of their own money yearly to keep classrooms running
- materials to increase technology use in the classroom (tablets, chromebooks, graphing calculators, etc. depending on the grade level and content area)
- materials to increase differentiation in the classroom (everything from color overlays, special seating equipment to retain attention, fidget cubes, to listening center materials, math manipulatives, and more
- classroom libraries that feature diversity of authors
- I am also open to your suggestions with donations!!!
These will be presented to the graduating student teachers on June 22-until then I would like to keep it a surprise to them. Thank you so much ANY amount helps!
