The Sharp’s are Sunk

Donation protected
Everyone in New England knows the struggle of water in your basement, however nobody expects to see their kayak floating on its own individual little rafting trip when opening their basement door. Unfortunately, though these things happen and then you’re up a creek with out a paddle looking at your floating brand new washing machine wondering how you got here.

Around 9:30 last night my cousin Kate and her husband Ryan found that their basement had flooded significantly due to a malfunction in their sump pump, and had to turn off electricity and heat and find someplace to stay.  Fortunately,  the water didn’t make it to the fuse box and no further damage was done other than the significant water in the basement. They will need to replace their furnace and hot water heater  in order to move back in to their house. They have to drain the pipes so that they don’t freeze and burst to keep their insurance, who is currently claiming that they are not covered for this “Act of God” Currently, they are living in a hotel with their dog Porter and will potentially have to find temporary housing for all three of them until they are able to get back into their home.

These two are such amazing people who would help out anyone in need. If anyone knows what it’s like to be in a bind quite like this one, it’s me. I found it infinitely beneficial to have the physical, emotional and financial support from friends family and the surrounding community when dealing with our house fire. The frustration with dealing with corporations to try and get back into your own living space was difficult enough then to add on the insurance fighting you the whole way. This is my way of paying it forward.

Any support if you are able would be greatly appreciated and go straight to the Sharp’s in helping them get back into their home.

If you can donate and share it would be greatly appreciated. If you can’t donate please take the time to click share because you never know who can.

On behalf of Kate, Ryan and Porter thank you in advance for the support.
