Our Road to Jordon

Our son Jordon has struggled with mental health concerns for many years. Despite medication and weekly therapy, he has made little to no progress. Many options have been tried, including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavior Modification, Community Support Services, Home Based Services, and out-patient counseling. He still sees a counselor on a weekly basis.

Last spring, Jordon hit rock bottom. He was exited from "mainstream" school and finished the school year homeschooling with his mother.  She quit her job to provide for him the around the clock care he needs. His mental health has remained "stable" enough to get him through until a bed for in-patent treatment was available.

Inpatient hospitalization was recommended by his care team, however finding a facility that would take a child with special medical needs (feeding tube, GERD, feeding difficulties, Chronic Lung Disease...) was nearly impossible. That was until the University of Michigan, Mott's Children's Hospital, agree to accept him into their program. Jordon's anticipated stay is two to three weeks. Jordon was admitted on Friday, November 10, 2017.

Family involvement is critical to Jordon's success, so we would like split his mom's time between Jordon and his siblings; two days in Ann Arbor, two days with his siblings....repeat. His siblings will also be spending a weekend with him.  Here is a breakdown of what that may cost:

6 nights lodging - $600
Meals - 60 total (4 days x 3, family visits 2 days x 12 ) - $600
Fuel (4 round trips) - $200
Other unpredected expenses
