The Purdy Girls College Fund

Donation protected
As many of  you know Dave Purdy was an amazing person that cared deeply for others.  His pivotal drive in life was to give his daughters, Sophia and Emma every possible advantage.

On November 25th, 2018 Dave succumbed to the depression he'd long fought.  He was not able to find peace here and passed away in his home surrounded by pictures and notes from his adored daughters; Sophia, Emma and his family.

If you are just now learning of this, we’re sorry you had to find out this way. We too are heartbroken and confused. We wish you nothing but love in this difficult time. We have all lost a wonderful person who has, and will continue to, give so much to all of us.

We have found ourselves humbled and grateful for the outpouring of love, support and prayers we have received from all of you, and for the love you have for Dave. Please keep your pictures, stories and memories coming. They uplift us and we feel blessed to have you in our lives.

In the initial announcement made on Facebook to share this sad news, we respectfully requested that in lieu of flowers, and in the spirit of Dave's foremost purpose, that you might consider donating to a college fund for his two girls, Sophia and Emma.  This GoFundMe account will be used to collect donations to go towards educational expenses for these two brilliant young ladies.

The GoFundMe account will be administered by Dave's brother and the girls Uncle, Dan Purdy. The girls Mom, Tina Purdy will be in charge of the funds. She has set up a withdrawl process from the account to an account set up for the girls college expenses. Dan and Tina are working together to manage these funds you have given to help the girls with their college expenses. If you have any questions about how we are using these donations please reach out to Dan through the GoFundMe platform and we'll try to answer your questions as best we can.

Please feel free to share this with anyone that you feel may want to know about Dave's passing or help his two girls, Sophia and Emma.

We also want to encourage any of you, or anyone you know, that may be struggling with finding peace on this earth to contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at [phone redacted].  The Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals.

We love you all just the way Dave loved us. Where ever you are on this sad day, please know that you are loved. Best wishes and comfort to you all; as Dave would say, “Mind the turn.” –

With gratitude and love - The Purdys
