The Pete and Amy Jackson Memorial

Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the Jackson family. It is these traumatic and trying times when we lean on family the most, so let’s be the family to these 5 children that have lost theirs.
During the afternoon hours of Sept 19th, we lost two beloved members of the Portage community. Amy and Pete Jackson were killed while enjoying an evening motorcycle ride after being struck by a repeat drunk driver. Amy and Peter were setting out to enjoy a rare night away from the little league fields where Amy was the secretary as well as the backbone of the league. Our friends leave behind five children — Jarad, Caleb, Dorian, Natanya, and Brayden — ranging in age from 4 to 18.
They were both passionate about the youth in this community and would lend a hand to anyone who needed. Their selflessness and joy for life was infectious and would impact anyone that was in their presence. After meeting them just once, you would call them your friends.
The Jackson children did not choose to have their parents taken from them, and now have no say in if they can stay together. Chris Archer, the brother of Amy Jackson, is attempting to obtain custody of his five nieces and nephews and raise them along with his three children. Donations will be used to cover the funeral expenses with any additional funds going directly to the Jackson children.
