The Loss Of Our Beautiful Skye

On Sunday 19th of March our precious little girl Skye escaped from our garden. Only a few door down from our house she was knocked down by such a cold hearted driver who didn't have the audacity to stop. Seconds after the incident a member of the public who was inside The Swing Gate Pub in Bradford rushed out to take her from the road. She was then rushed by this kind hearted man Gary to the PDSA on Wakefield Road. Myself, partner and younger brother were out searching the streets(not knowing). However I found out where she was and with the help of Andy and his lovely wife from 'Murphy's Army' who had been contacted through social media I was able to identify Skye at the PDSA and be by the side of my little girl. Andy and his wife stayed until I had family with me. On arrival I agreed to a £97 ultra sound. Skye looked fine from the outside but had trouble breathing. The vets wanted to check if there was any internal damage. After what felt like hours of waiting we got the results and we found that the organs that should be shown on the ultra sound couldn't be identified as there was that much blood. Once we found this out my parents arrived & we had the biggest decision to make whether to put her through the surgery (which she had a slim chance of surviving) or say goodbye.
We were willing to pay thousands to save our baby girl, we came away and within 45 minutes the vets called to tell us that she had collapsed, her lungs filled with blood and there was nothing they could do for our baby. That day at 4:55 I held my girl in my arms as she slipped away.
With the support of Murphys Army we've gone viral to track down this dreadful driver. It is AGAINST THE LAW not to stop after hitting an animal like a dog, this driver didn't attempt to stop, just drove away.
Our fees included ultrasound, care,admission,oxygen therapy, Thoracocentesis,Pentobarbitone & finally Euthanasia including the Casket and handling fee which came to a total of £616.10.
We are now a broken family and all we want is closure. Skye was our baby and all we want is justice.
Any additional money raised through this page once our target is hit we would like to donate to Murphys Army, we would not of got through this is if wasnt for them and the fatastic support of the public.
