The Keep Heather At Home Fund!

Donation protected
On Valentine’s Day 2016, our mum Heather suffered a very serious stroke at the age of 56. Miraculously she survived and has spent the last 10 months in Tallaght Hospital and The National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dun Laoghaire, undergoing medical treatment for various complications, and intense rehabilitation.

Although Heather has made truly amazing strides in her recovery, she still suffers from memory loss, aphasia (she cannot communicate full sentences and has difficulty comprehending speech), has lost the use of her right arm (making simple tasks e.g. eating, dressing and washing etc very difficult), and cannot walk unaided.

Although we have great faith in mum being able to live independently over the coming years through further rehabilitation, we need your help for this to happen.

The government can only provide very limited homecare, and in order for mum, to avoid being placed in a nursing home at 56 years old, we need to fund a large degree of her homecare privately.

We would be truly grateful for any support you can provide – our €8,500 target will provide 4 months home care so that she can recover in her home.
