WHO IS JAKE VEGAS?

Greetings and Salutations!  Jake Vegas here, and today I'm requesting your support  Many know me as a YouTuber who mainly creates content for a fishing game known as Fishing Planet  I currently have an awesome and supportive community of  around 4,300 Subscribers.  Many of my  Subscribers have requested that I take  my passion for fishing to the next level, and venture into creating real life fishing videos. I think this is a great idea, and something I would thoroughly enjoy doing.  Unfortunately, I have experienced some real life setbacks in the past few years, and I currently am...monetarily challenged...and I had to sell most of my fishing equipment to meet financial needs.  A few of my subscribers have suggested that I create a GoFundMe page to raise the funds needed to purchase the required equipment, and after much debate, I decided to take their advice and here we are!

WHY NOT PAY FOR THIS MYSELF?

This is a reasonable question to ask-- here is the answer:  a couple of years ago I was a contently employed individual, who commuted 150 miles a day, round trip, to my place of employment  I possess a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Information technology, and had to commute to the suburbs of Chicago, in order to find work in the field of IT.  Living in a rural part of Indiana, commuting to an area close to Chicago was necessary, as obtaining a job in IT close to my residence, proved to be close to impossible.  I commuted to the Chicago land area for 7 years, until I got into a car accident .
On my way to work, a deer darted in front of my car, crumpling the hood and pushing the radiator up into the engine upon impact.  My insurance company deemed the car unfixable, and they totaled it out  They also refused to pay the car off, as they said the vehicle's  250,000+ miles (obtained by commuting to and from my job) significantly dropped the value of the car.  So there I was, owing money on a vehicle that I no longer had, while unable to afford to purchase another vehicle.  Needless to say, I had to quit my job due to a lack of transportation.

Since the accident, I have applied for countless jobs and have yet to find one.  With no vehicle and with the lack of IT jobs in my area, I started applying for jobs below my education level, including  gas station attendant positions, window washer positions, bank teller positions, just to name a few.  I was told by one business that I did get an interview with, that they did not want to hire me because I was overqualified for the position, and didn't feel I would stay with the company for long.  Seems that my Bachelor's degree is more of a hindrance than a help right now.  While continuing my job search, I took to YouTube to try to earn at least a little bit of money until I can find gainful employment once again.

How Fishing Equipment Would Help My Situation

My YouTube channel is monetized, meaning that I earn money from the views that I receive, although it is a very small amount, at this time.  To put it into perspective, I earn less money a month on YouTube than I did working one day at my previous IT job.  The fishing game I  create videos for has a small audience, whereas real life fishing videos on Youtube has a very large audience.  With the loyal and supportive Subscriber base that I have on YouTube, combined with my real life fishing skills and my ability to edit quality videos, there is strong potential that I could give my subscribers the content they deserve, while also reaching a much larger audience.  This could result in greater revenue for my channel, which is what I desperately need, at this time.

I'm not looking to get rich or "famous" on YouTube;  I'm a hard working man, who is finding it extremely difficult to find employment  With the fishing equipment needed to make real fishing videos, the potential for my channel to earn more will increase.  The ultimate goal is to generate enough YouTube revenue to be able to afford a reliable vehicle that can handle the commute to the Chicago land area, where jobs in the IT field are plentiful.  This would give me a much greater chance at obtaining gainful employment once again,  unless the real life fishing videos really take off, then I'll be fishing for life! Thank you for taking the time to read this, and your support will be truly appreciated.
