#TheHomelessPeriod Washington, D.C.
Donation protected
Here's what your donation will provide our local homeless women:
$7 = 40 pads
$8 = 50 tampons
$15 = 2 (reusable) menstrual cups
$17 = 9 packs of hygienic wipes
Check out www.thehomelessperiod.com to learn more!
*********************************************
That feeling when you get your period in public and realize you don't have anything for it. It's embarassing. It feels gross.
What do you do? Ask a friend if she has a tampon? Run to a store? Make do with toilet paper for a few hours until you can go home to shower and change?
Homeless women don't have those options.
Feminine hygiene products aren't cheap but we often take them for granted because they're a necessity. And yet, they can't be purchased with food stamps and our homeless shelters often run out.
*********************************************
100% of donations collected are used to distribute feminine hygiene products to shelters in the DMV area.
**GoFundMe takes an 8% cut of donations. Consider donating directly with Paypal ([email redacted]) or Venmo (@Jessie-Rohrer) where there are no fees.
