The Holmes family tragic loss

Donation protected
On August 1, the unthinkable happened to the Holmes family. Felicity received a call at work to say her husband, Ade, had been in an accident. She rushed to the site of the accident imagining that Ade had maybe broken a bone falling off his bike, only to find that he had collided with a branch while mountain biking and died on impact. The shock and devastation hit Felicity with such force that it caused her to have a mild heart attack.

Poor Emma, the youngest daughter, was left to cope with the loss of her Father and care for her Mother in the days after the accident while waiting for family to arrive.

Ade was an active and healthy man. He had an infectious laugh and found humour in the simplest of things. Felicity and Ade were at a party on the Saturday before the accident, they planned dinners and a boat trip with friends. They were laughing and joking and enjoying life. Who knew that three days later, life would be  suddenly snatched away from Ade.

Felicity and her family are understandably devastated by the sudden loss. Ade was Felicity's best friend for 39 years. In spite of her grief she asks that you value and love your family every single day.

To assist Felicity and their children, Emma and Thomas, through the difficult time ahead, we are asking for donations to help ease the burden of grief and assist the family in caring for Felicity while she grieves and convalesces.

Felicity is a wonderful member of the Langley community. She is a Mother and an amazingly talented artists. She has led art classes and participates in community-focused events. It's time for her community to rally around her and support her through a loss that most of us could not even contemplate. The emptiness and grief must be all-consuming. We cannot ease her pain but we can provide them with some financial relief!

Grief. Grief is not selfish. It doesn't just strangle those immediately affected, it stretches it's dark fingers out throughout many levels of family and friends. But it makes people selfish. It makes us  feel grateful that it wasn't our family that was touched by loss. Let's show grief how unselfish we can be in support of The Holmes Family.
