The headstone our angel deserves

My name is Sylvia, I am Brantley’s aunt/mom #2.  I’m going to tell you about Brantley before I just go asking you for money. Brantley was born on November 4th,2017. From the very beginning we knew that he was our little fighter, he beat the odds before even coming into this crazy place we call home. He made it though, he came fast and furious without even giving me, his favorite aunt, any warning so I missed him actually being born. (Geesh, impatient!) he was so perfect, he weighed 5lbs 13 oz was 18 inches long. Beautiful dark eyes. The true definition of perfection, he also had a perfectly crooked smile. Which absolutely added to his charm.

He came home home to me, for reasons I’m not allowed to discuss. I have 3 kids of my own aged 9,6,2 also I had B’s big brother who had just turned 1 in August 2017. So when I was asked if I would take Brantley as well, I immediately said yes. Even though I knew that 5 kids was going to be hard, I didn’t want him going to someone he didn’t know. To be honest, I knew I was crazy. 3 kids under 2???!?? What was I thinking? I enjoyed every single moment though, and wouldn’t change it for the world.

So, we had to nickname him, all of our kids had nicknames. We have Jay, Ry, Pj and Jax is short enough to say. My best friend Sara and I were thinking, we couldn’t just say Brantley it was too long, so we thought maybe Brant? That just sounded funny to us, so then we thought what about just “B”. We tried it out,”what up B??!!!? “ he looked at us, and it stuck. Just like that we had our B.

The first couple months were were tough juggling everything. B had some issues with sucking on the bottle, so I had to hook his tongue with my finger then get the bottle in at just the right time, while still breastfeeding my youngest. It was a battle but we worked thru it and he eventually didn’t need us to hook his tongue anymore. He was getting bigger and more beautiful as those days went by! Once we got into the routine of things things went a lot smoother! Routine is key!!!

He was a happy healthy boy, he stole everyone’s hearts. He had an infectious laugh that would make anyone laugh along with him. His smile would light up a room. He was a very patient baby, that rarely cried, he learned how to roll over from front to back and then back to front. B was hitting all of his milestones. We went to his 6 month check up and the doctors had no concerns and asked if I had started to plan his first birthday. Secretly I already had:) I am a planner, what can I say?!?

Then the unthinkable happened, June 2nd,he got hurt and was rushed to the hospital then transported to Akron children’s hospital for emergency brain surgery.  We went thru a whole 3 and a half weeks of absolute hell. So many decisions and choices, hopes and disappointments. Finally we had to let him go, his quality of life would not have been near a life that any person should live. He wouldn’t be able to talk, feel touch, wouldn’t be able to see us or hear us, live without being on a ventilator, best case scenario he would have a trach and be able to breathe on his own. Realistically, he wouldn’t wake up from the coma that he was in due to his injuries. B entered the gates of heaven on Wednesday June 27th surrounded by the people who love him, I was holding him when his heart stopped. I will never forget the moment his heart stopped and mine kept going.  Never in my life did I think I would have to be planning the funeral of my,now 7month old, nephew.

So,I am asking for money to cover the cemetery marker he deserves as well as flowers and fees thru everything.  The kind of marker I would like for him is one with his photo on it, I was told that it will cost about 1300, before taxes and such. If you can help, It is greatly appreciated, if not I completely understand.

I would give anything, to have him back. To hear his laugh and to see his smile, unfortunately I can’t, so I’m trying to make his memory live on. Thank you for your time.
