Okay guys! If you have been following along for the past year you know I have been starting a non profit. Well low and behold we are here! The final step is to pay the state filing fees because Uncle Sam wants his cut too! If you or someone you know have a few extra bucks I know some people who could put it to an amazing use!
The Hazel Foundation for Athletics:
Welcome to The Hazel Foundation for Athletics. Indoor climbing has been rapidly gaining popularity over the past ten years with over 300 gyms spread out through all 50 states. This relatively new industry has provided people of all ages and abilities with an accessible and fun introduction to the often intimidating world of rock climbing. This rise in disabilities in the United States means that access to adaptive sports is becoming important now more than ever. Across the country, adaptive climbing programs are being created for the simple reason that climbing requires an engaged mind and body, in turn creating disciplined and focused adaptive athletes.
Our Mission:
The Hazel Foundation for Athletics seeks to ensure that all children and adults have access to sports. This includes adaptive athletes, at risk youth, low-income families, veterans, and other non-traditional athletic groups. The foundation seeks to do this through grant giving, athletic advocacy work, and strategic community partnerships.
Our Approach:
The Hazel Foundation for Athletics aims to help children and adults build strength and confidence in a stimulating environment. Sports are a great way for athletes to increase coordination, utilize gross and fine motor movements, and connect with their community. Our program includes multiple ways to get involved with sports including our most well known adaptive climbing program that was created with the intention of providing long term, frequent access for those looking to pursue climbing.
What we need:
Right now all the back end work has been done for starting The Hazel Foundation for Athletics. We are looking to raise $877.00 to cover the cost of our legal start up. This includes state filing fees, legal advice, and compliance advice.
