The Haven: Building for Recovery

The Haven, a residential substance abuse treatment  program in Dothan,  AL was established  in  1961 by a group of  compassionate,  community minded individuals. This group recognized the need for a local facility to be used for the "rehabilitation of alcoholics". Over the past 55 years thousands of men and women have found help, hope and recovery here. We will never know all of the stories that have been rewritten, lives changed, and families restored because of the foresight and sacrifice of those who helped establish and nurture The Haven. 

With the founder's mission firmly in mind, it is time to look to the future. The first building, constructed in 1963, has remained unchanged since it was built. New facilities are necessary to ensure the substance abuse treatment needs of our community can be met for years to come. Community support for the Haven is just as important today as it was fifty-five years ago. YOUR help is needed to close a funding gap so the final stages of building can be completed.
